Arsenal are reportedly the favourites to secure the signature of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen ahead of all other interested clubs.
The forward had a productive 2022-23 season, scoring 21 goals and providing four assists in 26 competitive games.
Osimhen is the league ‘s highest scorer this season, with 19 goals in the Italian top division.
Osimhen has been a standout for Napoli, who are 15 points away from ending their 33-year wait for the Serie A title.
Osimhen’s outstanding performances have piqued the curiosity of a number of Europe’s top teams, including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain.
However, according to RAI, Arsenal are currently winning the race to sign the Nigerian as they aim to improve their forward line.
The current Premier League leaders would have to spend a lot of money to attract the 24-year-old to North London.
According to the report, Napoli are asking for €150m (£133m) to part ways with the striker, which would surpass the British transfer record recently set by Enzo Fernandez’s £106m January move to Chelsea.
With Osimhen under contract until June 2025, Napoli will be confident in their negotiating position.

Arsenal’s central strikers have mostly been Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus this season, but the latter has not played since the 2022 World Cup due to a knee injury.
Folarin Balogun, a 21-year-old on Arsenal’s books, is now on loan with French club Reims and has been in excellent form, tallying 15 goals in 25 league outings.
Osimhen, who has 15 goals in 23 international appearances for Nigeria, will be looking to attain a huge milestone against Atalanta on Saturday.
Osimhen, who has 49 goals in 88 appearances for Napoli, will be seeking to surpass the half-century mark.
