Manchester City loanee Joao Cancelo is reportedly growing frustrated with his role at Bayern Munich as he has once again found himself on the bench.
The Portugal international moved to the Allianz Arena on a temporary basis two months ago after falling out of favor under Pep Guardiola.
Rico Lewis’s rise has pushed Cancelo down the pecking order, while Kyle Walker and Nathan Ake have also played in full-back for the Premier League champions this season.
Cancelo, who disputed that his exit from Man City was due to a falling out with Guardiola, got right to work at Bayern Munich, contributing an assist in each of his first two matches with the team.
However, in Bayern’s last two Bundesliga games, Josip Stanisic has been preferred to the 28-year-old, and Cancelo was an unused substitute in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Stuttgart.
Bayern now prepares to face Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 encounter on Wednesday evening.
As a result, Cancelo could have started against the French champions, but according to writer Florian Plettenberg, the Man City loanee will be on the bench once more.

Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann reportedly sees Cancelo as an out-and-out right-back rather than a wing-back, and the Portuguese will therefore be limited to a substitute appearance in the Champions League at best.
Cancelo has nine goals and 22 assists in 154 games for Man City before joining Bayern, winning two Premier League titles and being selected to the PFA Team of the Year the last two seasons.
The versatile defender is under contract at the Etihad until 2027, and he has not ruled out a return to Manchester in the summer.
