Real Madrid have reportedly handed attacking midfielder Marco Asensio a contract extension offer, albeit with a lower pay, according to MARCA.
According to the reports, the offer is in the range of €4m annually, while the player anticipates earning €6m annually after the extension. This may imply that there is no agreement between both parties yet and that the Spanish international will be a free agent next summer.

Real Madrid have the upper hand in this negotiation, so it appears unlikely that the club will significantly improve their offer.
As a result, Asensio may need to either look for a better deal from another team or lower his demands to stay with the club.
Brahim Diaz has been expected to replace Asensio in the squad if the attacker leaves Madrid in the summer. Diaz has shown consistency during his two-year loan deal in Milan.

According to Football Transfers, Liverpool are said to be interested in signing Asensio, who is a free agent at the end of this season. The Reds are reportedly looking for a player who can play in the number 10 position, and Asensio seems to fit the bill.
Asensio, who is 27-years-old, has been with Real Madrid for seven years, making over 260 appearances for the club.
It would seem increasingly likely that he will leave the Spanish giants, but the next few months will determine his future.
