However, there are still gaps in United’s midfield ranks. Ten Hag’s team has appeared entirely different without Brazilian defensive midfielder Casemiro. Illustrating the need for more talent in the center of the park.
SPORT, a Spanish publication, claims that United’s midfield problems will be resolved this summer. Because Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder, Ruben Neves is already in advanced negotiations for a potential transfer.
The Portuguese midfielder is renowned for his long passing range and play-breaking skills. He would undoubtedly assist Casemiro in the deep-lying midfield position.

According to the report, Neves is “already negotiating what could be his transfer to United starting next summer.” And he is reportedly looking for a significant transfer.
Neves joined Wolves while they were in the Championship for a sum rumored to be around £15.8 million. A club and league record fee, and reunited with Nuno Espirito Santo, his former Porto boss. At the time, the move was a major coup.
The 26-year-old has developed into one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. Starring in the Europa League when Wolves were at their best and currently a captain of the team.
After six years in the Midlands, Neves may feel that he requires a new challenge. Most especially now that the Midlands team is in the relegation zone.
The 26-year-old has just a year left on his current deal which he signed in 2018.
Neves is valued by Transfermarkt at about €40 million.
