Newcastle United and Leicester City are reportedly plotting a summer move for Man United’s outcast, Harry Maguire.
The Magpies just defeated the Red Devils 2-0 at St. James’ Park, putting on a strong performance on Sunday.
This is in light of reports that Newcastle are interested in acquiring a few Manchester United stars this summer.
One of them, Scott McTominay, didn’t exactly have his finest game while playing in Erik ten Hag’s midfield. Harry Maguire is the other; he was an unused substitute on Sunday.
Newcastle United are interested in signing Maguire at the conclusion of the current campaign, according to a report from 90Min. Maguire currently looks to be Old Trafford’s fourth-choice center back.
So a move to Newcastle would undoubtedly be appealing. However, there will be other Premier League teams interested, and one of them might make Maguire an emotional move.
Leicester City reportedly has interest in re-signing Maguire this summer, according to The Sun. It has been reported that Leicester wants to bring Maguire back to the King Power Stadium after he departed for Old Trafford four years ago.
However, the report does imply Brendan Rodgers was especially interested in such a move. On Sunday, Rodgers was let go, which might cause problems for Leicester in signing the English centre-back.

A Maguire return hangs in the balance when you consider that the Foxes face a genuine chance of slipping into the Championship.
In search for first-team action, Maguire, 30, will have to depart United this summer. The fact that the England international has only played five Premier League games this year is simply not good enough.
Maguire may have sentimental links to Leicester, but he would undoubtedly prefer a summer transfer to a competitive Newcastle team.
