Brentford Want £35m For Man United, Tottenham Target David Raya

Brentford have reportedly set their asking price for goalkeeper David Raya, with Manchester United and Tottenham interested in signing the spanish shot-stopper.

The Spain international is only under contract with the Bees until the end of the season and is not expected to sign an extension.

Raya has previously stated that he is willing to leave the Gtech Community Stadium in order to pursue his dream of playing European football.

Man United and Tottenham have emerged as the two frontrunners to sign Raya, but Chelsea have also been linked with a summer move.

La Liga clubs are also said to be keeping an eye on developments, and despite his contract situation, Brentford will not be forced into selling on the cheap.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, a fee of €40m (£35.1m) will be required to lure Raya away from Brentford, and the goalkeeper has no intentions to sign a new contract in the English capital.

Such a fee would be affordable for Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, who are looking for replacements for David de Gea and Hugo Lloris, respectively.

Raya spent seven years at Blackburn Rovers between 2012 and 2019 before joining Brentford, where he helped the Bees gain promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history in 2020-21.

The former Cornella youngster has 51 clean sheets in 153 competitive appearances for Thomas Frank’s side, including nine shutouts in 30 Premier League games this season.

Raya’s Premier League achievements earned him a call-up to the Spanish side for the 2022 World Cup, although he was an unused substitute during the tournament as La Roja were ousted in the last 16.
