Brendan Rodgers ‘Very Interested In Tottenham Hotspur Job’

Brendan Rodgers is reportedly interested in becoming the next manager of Tottenham Hotspur and is expected to be interviewed.

Leicester City sacked the Northern Irishman earlier this month as a result of the Foxes’ being in the Premier League relegation zone.

Rodgers’ reign came to an end with five defeats in his final six Premier League games, but that should not overshadow an otherwise outstanding spell at the King Power Stadium.

Rodgers’ final season at Leicester was hampered by the club’s financial difficulties, which prevented him from significantly rejuvenating his team in the summer.

While the 50-year-old is now out of the dugout, he stated shortly after leaving Leicester that he was looking forward to “his next challenge.”

According to Football Insider, Rodgers would like to have that opportunity at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium beginning this summer.

Although Cristian Stellini is now in charge on an interim basis, Tottenham are looking for a long-term replacement for Antonio Conte.

The North London outfit has been associated with a number of managers who are now in and out of work, but a clear favorite is yet to emerge from the group.

It was reported earlier this week that Spurs are interested in signing Vincent Kompany, who recently got promotion to the Premier League with Burnley.

Since Conte’s departure last month, Julian Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino, Graham Potter, and Arne Slot all been linked with a move to the club.

However, the report indicates that Rodgers will be interviewed for the position in the coming weeks, with chairman Daniel Levy being a fan.

Rodgers is no stranger to being in charge of a high-profile club, having previously worked for Liverpool and Celtic.
