Four Premier League Clubs In Hunt To Sign Folarin Balogun

Arsenal forward Folarin Balogun has reportedly garnered the interest of four clubs in the Premier League this summer.

Balogun was allowed to join Reims on a season-long loan after placing third in the centre-forward ranks at the Emirates Stadium.

The 21-year-old has since established himself as one of Europe’s most highly rated young forward, scoring 18 goals in Ligue 1.

While his natural development in France appeared to have set him up to make an impact at Arsenal, it is increasingly likely that he will not be included in Mikel Arteta’s first-team squad next season.

Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are ahead of the England Under-21 international in the pecking order, with Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli ready to step in.

Meanwhile, Balogun has just over two years left on his contract and is at a point in his career where he will not be content with few starts.

It was claimed last week that Arsenal are ready to ask for £26m for Balogun in order to raise transfer funds before the summer transfer window.

According to Football Insider, as many as four Premier League clubs are weighing whether to match those demands.

Balogun has been linked to Brentford, Crystal Palace, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Everton ahead of the 2023-24 season.

The Bees may pursue Balogun as a potential replacement for Ivan Toney, who is garnering interest from bigger teams, while Crystal Palace had been without a goal until Roy Hodgson turned the Eagles’ fortunes around.

Any move to Wolves or Everton would be subject on those clubs remaining in the Premier League, but their struggles in front of goal would make them a viable option for Balogun.
