Liverpool and Newcastle United are reportedly interested in the signature of Torino central defender, Perr Schuurs ahead of the summer transfer window.
Although both teams are in the top eight of the Premier League standings, their seasons have been very different.
The Merseyside giants are nine points off of the Champions League spots. And they are unlikely to return to the continent’s top competition next year.

According to an Italian journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio as claimed by Sports Mole, Liverpool would be willing to compete with Newcastle if a deal for Schuurs becomes likely.
In his first season with the Turin club, Schuurs played a significant part at one point this season. Helping Torino maintain one of the greatest defensive records in Serie A.
Since Torino paid around €9 million for his contract, the former Ajax player has played in 22 starts and one substitute appearance in Italy’s top division.
The 23-year-old has a contract with Torino through 2026. Il Toro might be aware that the Dutchman’s worth has risen substantially throughout the span of 2022–2023.

The Dutchman had 95 games for Ajax and 16 caps with the Under-21s under his belt. Despite not having played for the Netherlands senior team yet.
Although Schuurs plays center defense predominantly. He can also fill in at right back and in defensive midfield if necessary. His versatility is likely to draw interest from clubs like Liverpool and Newcastle.
