Inter Milan defeated Juventus 1-0 on Wednesday to advance to the Italian Cup final, 2-1 on aggregate.
Federico Dimarco intercepted Nicolo Barella’s pass intended for Edin Dzeko and rolled past Mattia Perin to score the game’s lone goal at the San Siro. It was the Italian’s fifth goal of the season for the team where he was born and raised, and it continued Inter’s successful cup run.
The Italian Super Cup has already been won by Simone Inzaghi’s team, and on May 24 in Rome they will have the opportunity to defend their title, possibly against Fiorentina.
Additionally, they are getting ready for a thrilling derby matchup with AC Milan in the Champions League semifinals.
With a 2-0 lead from the first leg and an almost certain spot in the final, Fiorentina welcomes Cremonese on Thursday.
“My team deserved the final over the course of the two legs,” Inzaghi told Mediaset.
“We’ve now got 10 games left in the season, let’s hope that there’s one more (final).”
