Jim Ratcliffe ‘Proposes Solution’ For Glazers To STAY In Man Utd

Sir Jim Ratcliffe hopes to outbid his rivals in the Manchester United acquisition controversy by offering Avram and Joel Glazer the opportunity to keep a minority ownership in the club.

One of the parties involved in the ongoing Manchester United takeover crisis, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has reportedly made a new proposal that would allow Avram and Joel Glazer to maintain a tiny ownership in the club.

Ratcliffe, the richest man in Britain and the CEO of Ineos, had bid in both prior rounds of the process, along with Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani and others.

And, while Sheikh Jassim wants to buy the entire club rather than just a minority part, it has now been revealed that Ratcliffe has tabled an offer that would allow two of the Glazers to stay on board before Friday’s third and final deadline for bids.

According to a report from The Times, Ratcliffe’s current plan would see the Ineos chairman take a controlling 50% ownership in the club, allowing Avram and Joel to retain a 20% stake. The remaining 30% of shares would be held by different groups.

Such an offer would most certainly appeal to Avram and Joel, who have been at odds with other family members.

By then, fans would have staged another protest in their attempt to drive the Glazers out of Old Trafford. Before Sunday’s match with Aston Villa a group of supporters plan to march from Manchester’s city centre to Old Trafford under the slogan “full sale only”. It is their intention to boycott the first 18 minutes — “one for every year the Glazers have driven our club into the ground”.
