£170 Million Spending Spree – Chelsea Prepare for ‘Busy Summer’

According to Fabrizio Romano  Caught Offside and the Daily Mail, Chelsea are planning a massive summer spending spree, with four players already on their radar.

Romano has linked the club with Southampton player Romeo Lavia and Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone. The pair would provide new legs to the aging midfield. Meanwhile, Brentford’s Ivan Toney and David Raya are linked to the Blues, according to the Maila.

The report from the Daily Mail, “Chelsea are preparing for yet another busy summer in the transfer market.” According to two reports today, the squad has already been linked with four players worth up to £170 million.

Kone is apparently worth £26 million, the London club has already offered £50 million for Lavia, Toney has been valued at £40 million, and goalkeeper Raya will cost “at least £40 million, if not more,” according to manager Thomas Frank.

Todd Boehly and his partners have already invested much in the team. They’ve spent large money on players like Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk, but it hasn’t been enough to avert an almost unprecedentedly terrible season at Stamford Bridge. With a new manager on the way in the summer, they will presumably be given fresh players to bolster the squad.

Kepa Arrizabalaga has not been at his best despite overtaking Edouard Mendy as the first-choice goalkeeper. This is where Brentford’s shot-stopper could come into the equation as he has been really good all year.

In addition, goalscoring has been a major issue for the team all year which could prompt a big money move for the Bees’ top marksman who has 19 Premier League goals so far this season.
