West Ham Interested In Signing Prolific Championship Striker

Michail Antonio is set to leave West Ham United at the end of the season.

According to a recent Mirror article, the Hammers have picked Coventry striker Viktor Gyokeres as Antonio’s long-term replacement in west ham.

Gyokeres, 24, is a full-fledged international for Sweden, and after a great season with Coventry, who recently made the playoffs, he appears set to play in the Premier League, regardless of whether his present club makes the top flight at the end of the season.

With 22 goals in 47 games this season, Coventry’s Gyokeres is thought to have piqued the interest of David Moyes, who is looking for a new forward ahead of Antonio’s exit at the end of the season.

Antonio, 33, has been with the Hammers since 2015 but now in the twilight of his career, as well as his form continuing to decline, this season looks set to be his last in the country’s capital.

He appears destined for a big move in the upcoming window after netting 18 goals in 38 games so far this term. It follows his impressive form over the last campaign, where he chipped in with 17 strikes and five assists.

Meanwhile, Burnley are also interested in Gyokeres after failing to land him in the last two windows. Vincent Kompany is still a big fan of the forward and will be able to offer Premier League football next season with the Clarets almost certain to gain promotion this term.
