On his YouTube channel, the former Manchester United defender praised Roberto De Zerbi, who has been linked to Tottenham Hotspur, for his work at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Rio Ferdinand believes the 43-year-old Italian manager ought to be in the running for Manager of the Year.
Meanwhile, Tottenham are reportedly contemplating hiring De Zerbi as their new manager in the summer of 2023, according to a report from The Independent.
“De Zerbi needs his flowers. And if we are talking manager of the season, he is up there,” Rio Ferdinand said.
Furthermore, former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood has publicly backed De Zerbi to be a success at Spurs if appointed by the London club.

It remains to be seen if Roberto De Zerbi would be appointed by chairman, Daniel Levy.
The 43-year-old has been really great at Brighton, however it can be said that there was not much pressure on him to succeed straightaway.
Meanwhile, at Spurs it would be a much different situation as there would be more pressure on the Italian for immediate success.
