Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has insisted he won’t think about his side winning the treble unless they defeat city rivals, Manchester United in Wembley to win the FA cup.
The 52-year-old joked that the ambition for Manchester City in the upcoming season will be to score a goal away against Tottenham Hotspur. The Spaniard is adamant that he will only consider a potential Treble if his team wins the FA Cup final.
City has already won the Premier League for the fifth time in six seasons. And the team is now in range of a historic Treble.
Before focusing on the FA Cup final against bitter rivals Manchester United on June 3, Guardiola’s team will finish their league season with games against Brighton and Brentford.
The English champions will then travel to Istanbul with the target of winning their first UEFA Champions League crown, when they play Inter Milan on June 10.
Sky Sports questioned Guardiola about his next challenge should Man City go on to win the Treble.
‘Score a goal against Spurs away,’ Guardiola joked. ‘I stay because I want to beat Spurs away.’
If Man City win the treble what’s your next target Pep? 🤔

In previous years, City have had a dismal away record against Spurs. Losing in each of their last five trips to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
What Did Guardiola Say About City’s Treble Ambition?
Guardiola emphasized that he is not considering replicating Manchester United’s 1999 Treble-winning squad. But rather City’s next ambition.
‘I start to think about the Treble if we are able to go to Istanbul with two titles in the pocket, then I will concede if we win one more title we do it.
‘Look at United, it was once in a lifetime in the UK and the way they won the Camp Nou against Bayern Munich, I was there.
‘It is so difficult to do it, the last two finals we have will be terribly complicated.
‘I know United want to avoid it and Inter Milan is Inter Milan, so step by step.’
