Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is reportedly confident he can convince Mason Mount to join Old Trafford this summer.
The Red Devils finished third in the Premier League this season with a final-day victory over Fulham on Sunday, which means Champions League action will return to The Theatre of Dreams.
Ten Hag is aiming for a sizable transfer budget this summer in order to further shape the United squad into one that can play his brand of football. While also being able to manage the demands of competing in Europe’s best club competition.
According to The Telegraph, Ten Hag believes he can convince Chelsea midfielder Mount to join his Manchester project, given the fact that the 24-year-old is ready to leave Stamford Bridge.
However, Fellow Premier League clubs Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in Mount as they want to bolster their own engine rooms. The former Derby County man has one year left on his current contract at Stamford Bridge.
According to recent reports, Ten Hag wants a new striker and a no. 8 as part of his strategy to narrow the gap on Manchester City this summer. with Mount believing the Dutchman’s setup is most suitable for him going forward.

The Chelsea star looked to bid farewell to the club after joining the end-of-season lap of appreciation after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle United on the final day of the 2022-23 season.
However, Mount has only played 16 minutes of Premier League football since February due to a pelvic injury that required minor surgery last month.
His prospective arrival in Manchester has been questioned by two of the club’s most prominent midfielders over the years, Roy Keane and Paul Scholes.
