Arsenal have reportedly gathered information on Barcelona talented youngster, Aleix Garrido who has been viewed to be similar to Pedri Gonzalez.
At the age of 19, Garrido recently earned his senior debut for Barcelona. He featured in the final six minutes of a 4-0 victory at Elche at the beginning of April. He renewed his contract with the team through 2025 a few weeks later.
According to an update from Diario Sport via Team Talk, Arsenal are currently interested in him. The Premier League runners-up, who are led by Mikel Arteta – a former Barcelona academy product – are aware of how well he has been progressing in Catalonia.
Arsenal have since produced its own internal reports evaluating Garrido’s qualities and potential. They might eventually be persuaded to pursue the midfielder.
They would have difficulty persuading him to leave Barcelona, though. Right now, the teenager is daydreaming about a future in Camp Nou.
According to the report, he has drawn comparisons to Pedri from certain people and has Xavi’s support.

The Barcelona head coach said after Garrido’s debut: “Aleix is a total Barca profile. He is a footballer that I like. Technically he is gifted.
“Pablo [Torre] and Aleix are very young but I see a talent in them who can participate. Aleix would have made his debut earlier if not for the injury.
“They are players who we take very seriously. We always try to give them opportunities but sometimes the competition within the team makes it difficult.”
Not just Arsenal have taken note of what Garrido could potentially be able to do. He still prefers Barcelona, though, for the time being.
