Chelsea forward Kai Havertz will reportedly undergo his Arsenal medical this weekend ahead of completing his £65m move to the Emirates Stadium.
The Gunners are said to have reached a deal in principle to make the 24-year-old their first summer signing after an uninspiring three years in West London.
Havertz is set to sign a long-term contract paying more than £200,000 per week with Mikel Arteta’s team.
According to Sky Sports News, the former Bayer Leverkusen man will have a medical with the Gunners over the weekend, which will most likely take place outside the UK.
Assuming no further stumbling hurdles, Arsenal are reportedly planning to announce the signing of Havertz next week, after failing with one bid for the German before sealing a deal for an initial £62m plus £3m in add-ons.
Chelsea’s contract with the 24-year-old is set to expire in the summer of 2025, and he has reportedly stated that he is unwilling to sign an extension, therefore the Blues are eager to unload him this summer.
Havertz rose through the ranks at Bayer Leverkusen until joining Chelsea for £75m in the summer of 2020, where he has since won the Champions League, Club World Cup, and UEFA Super Cup.

Havertz scored the winning goal for the Blues in the 2020-21 Champions League final against Manchester City, one of 32 goals and 15 assists for Chelsea in 139 games.
Last season, he was mostly used in a center offensive role, however he only managed nine goals in 47 appearances, while finishing the season as Chelsea’s top Premier League scorer with seven.
