Progress on Newcastle’s projected acquisition of Federico Chiesa is ‘anticipated in the coming days.’ And the Magpies are ‘ready to pay’ €50 million for the Juventus star.
Eddie Howe is preparing his team to fight on all fronts after they earned a spot in the Champions League. And he wants to bolster their ranks with talent and experience.
They previously paid £60 million for Sandro Tonali to join them from AC Milan. And they are reportedly close to agreeing to a deal with Leicester for winger Harvey Barnes.
Chiesa, who first surfaced as a potential transfer target last month, is still a target for Newcastle, according to Totto Juve via Football 365.
Sky Italia asserted that they had “made contact” over Chiesa and fellow Serie A player Theo Hernandez.
As of now, it’s been stated that negotiations for a transfer of Chiesa are ongoing, with ‘progress expected’ between Newcastle and Juventus in the ‘coming days’.
The Italian international’s current contract has two years left, and it’s been said that the Magpies are’ready to give’ €50 million to sign him, despite earlier claims that Juventus will demand €60 million.
After an initial loan stint with the Old Lady, Chiesa joined Juventus for about €45 million in the summer of 2022. Following his standout performance for Italy at Euro 2020, he garnered a lot of the interest.
The manager Massimiliano Allegri, with whom the 25-year-old ‘does not have a great feeling’. Primarily because of his tactics at Juventus, is a major factor in the possibility of his departure this summer.
