Club Urges Signing Of  ‘Very Good’ Leeds Player As £10M Deal A ‘Success’

Former Espanyol coach Quique Sanchez Flores believes Leeds United player Marc Roca will be a ‘complete success’ if he returns to La Liga with Real Betis this summer.

While he has been undeniably disappointing during what appears to be his first and also final season at Leeds United, it hasn’t been long since Bayern Munich fought off reported interest from Arsenal in signing a player dubbed the “second coming of Sergio Busquets” by some after helping Spain win the U21 European Championships back in 2019.

And don’t be shocked if the 26-year-old playmaker rediscovers the form that drew Bayern Munich’s attention in the first place if he returns to Spain with Real Betis. The slower pace of La Liga game suits Roca’s neat, probing passing approach better.

Marc Roca leaving Leeds United to join Real Betis?

“(Roca will be) a total success,” Watford manager Sanchez Flores tells El Desmarque. “He is going to add a lot, and it appears to me that he will adapt well to Manuel Pellegrini’s philosophy.” “He is a player who plays an important role with the ball.” Very structured, he has excellent vision, and he understands (how to play) the transition between defense and striker.”

“He can enhance anyone. When you play him as a “number eight,” he plays as a “eight.” If you play him as a ‘number six’ he plays as a ‘six’. He is a very good player regardless of who is next to him.”

According to AS, Real Betis have agreed to a loan agreement for Roca, with a £10 million option to buy in his contract. The Estadio Benito Villamarin has seen numerous players attempting to resurrect their careers, and Sanchez Flores sees no reason why Roca cannot follow in the footsteps of Nabil Fekir, Sergio Canales, and Gio Lo Celso.
