Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez has slammed his former teammate, Romelu Lukaku, over his attitude.
It was expected that Lukaku, who played on loan for Inter last season, would secure a permanent transfer to the club from Chelsea. However, Inter withdrew from negotiations after it was disclosed the Belgian international was also in contact with Juventus, a Serie A rival.
Martinez claims he was disappointed at Lukaku’s actions, particularly given that the 30-year-old had ignored his calls about the situation.
Martinez admitted his disappointment to Gazzetta dello Sport, saying: ‘I was disappointed, it’s the truth. I also tried to call him in those days of chaos, he never answered me, the same he did with my other companions.
‘After so many years together, after so many things lived together, I was disappointed.
‘Thankfully, it’s his choice. I wish him the best. But I didn’t expect this attitude.’

Lukaku initially played for Inter on a permanent basis between 2019 and 2021 before returning on loan last season.
Lukaku’s future remains unresolved, although Juventus are looking to sign him on loan.
The striker has been training alone at Chelsea’s Cobham base and isn’t part of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans.
