PSG Willing To Go After Barca Attacker If Mbappe Leaves

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering to go after Barcelona forward, Ousmane Dembele if Kylian Mbappe leaves the club this summer.

The 24-year-old may leave PSG this summer, as the club appears to be warming to the notion. If such is the case, Barcelona might suffer as a result.

According to Diario AS, the Ligue 1 champions have determined that if they lose Mbappe, they will pursue Dembele. The question is whether he will ultimately join Real Madrid now or in the future. But they have set a price for Mbappe.

Dembele’s release clause is presently merely €50 million, but PSG have been linked to him on numerous times in the past.

The amount rises to €100 million from the beginning of August. However, considering their tight budget, the Blaugrana would reportedly be open to negotiating for something below his release clause.

Next summer, the winger’s contract expires. Barcelona and Dembele have begun negotiating a new agreement that would keep him with the club through 2027.

But it seems talks with his agent Moussa Sissoko will drag out, like they did the last time. Dembele was believed to be determined to remain in Barcelona, at least before to PSG’s interest.

Luis Enrique, the manager of PSG, has authorized the pursuit of Dembele. Nevertheless, his former teammate and captain Xavi Hernandez is unlikely to be pleased with the prospect that Barcelona would engage in negotiations for Dembele.

Xavi has often said his belief on Dembele, reaping the benefits last season before an injury ruined his chances of playing starting in January. Given Dembele’s ability to get past opposition, he is most certainly one of the guys he would be most eager to keep.
