Mason Greenwood has broken his silence for the first time after leaving Manchester United on a season-long loan to Spanish club, Getafe.
After a protracted internal probe, the Red Devils notified the 21-year-old that he would not be an essential component of their plans for 2023–24.
Since January 2022, he has not featured in any competitive game.
In February 2023, allegations of attempted rape, abusive behavior, and violence were dismissed, allowing Greenwood to resume his professional playing career.
Italy and Turkey expressed an interest in United’s request for bids for the one-cap England international.
Eventually, the club reached a compromise, and Greenwood has since moved to Spain in search of a new beginning away from England.
According to Goal, Greenwood sent a message to his latest club’s English-language Twitter account: “Hi Getafe fans, it’s Mason here. I’m so happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started.”

“It is too delicate a situation to trivialise this issue. Everybody knows what happened. The appropriate measures were taken”
“Obviously we can only talk about football, about other issues. I think, that the people and the relevant systems did what they had to do. And everybody knows how it ended – without a condemnatory sentence.
