Chelsea Star Not In Pochettino’s Plans Amid Bayern Interest

Chelsea defender, Trevor Chalobah is reportedly not in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans this season after he failed to make a move in the summer transfer window.

According to the Evening Standard, the west London club will no longer need Chalobah after he recovers from his present injury. Due to a hamstring injury, the 24-year-old is out of action and does not anticipate playing a significant part upon his return in late September.

Bayern Munich are one club interested in the center-back this summer. Former Blues manager Thomas Tuchel, who gave Chalobah his Chelsea debut in 2021, was eager to sign the defender on loan.

He was thought to never need to fly to Germany for a medical on deadline day with time ticking down.

According to the report, Nottingham Forest were another club interested in the Blues star. But Chalobah desired to join a team of comparable status to Chelsea.

Although Chalobah is under contract at Stamford Bridge through 2028. It is increasingly difficult to imagine him sticking at the club until then.

Prior to the January transfer window, the defender will weigh his choices. And he is likely to depart either then or in the summer of 2024.

Evening Standard also claimed that Chalobah’s time at his boyhood club came to an end when the Blues acquired Axel Disasi from Monaco to the squad of outstanding players they already had in their defense.
