Getafe head coach, Jose Bordalas has claimed that Real Madrid sensation, Jude Bellingham advised Mason Greenwood to make the move to Laliga.
The move was made after it was determined that the 21-year-old will leave Manchester United this season. And after other clubs throughout Europe displayed interest in the youngster.
Greenwood was charged with attempted rape and violence. But the Crown Prosecution Service said in February that the allegations against him had been dropped.
It has recently been made public that Bellingham, who once shared the field with Greenwood for England, was instrumental in persuading him to sign a loan agreement with Getafe until the end of the current campaign.
That is what Getafe manager Bordalas claimed. As cited by Football 365, he stated this in a Radio Marca interview.
“Greenwood is friends with Bellingham, and he advised him to come to the Spanish league.”
On signing the Man Utd attacker, he added: “It was a surprise, we never thought we could get a player like that.
“But they got in touch with our sporting director (Ruben Reyes), we talked. We didn’t think it could happen but both sides made an effort [financially].”

Despite the turmoil that has surrounded him, Greenwood has generally earned positive reviews from Getafe fans.
In fact, the Greenwood’s Getafe shirt set a record for the Spanish outfit’s most jersey sold in a 48-hour period.
The 21-year-old is in line to make his debut for Getafe as they host Osasuna on Sunday.
