Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp hailed Ryan Gravenberch for opening the way with his obvious talent in the Reds 2-0 victory over Union Saint-Gilloise in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.
The Dutch midfielder opened his goal-scoring account in the Reds shirt after profiting from Union SG goalkeeper, Anthony Moris’ failure to handle Trent Alexander-Arnold shot.
The £35 million summer transfer from Bayern Munich made just his third start of the season. And after impressing in the first European match, another all-around effort was finished by what he called “the easiest goal of my career.”
Diogo Jota’s goal in injury time towards the end of the second half gave Liverpool a victory in the Europa League in consecutive matches.
It was an important goal because Liverpool had missed several chances before that, despite the fact that they were rarely in danger.
What Did Klopp Say About Gravenberch?
‘It is really obvious how good he is, the talent he is,’ Klopp stated as reported by The Mail. Regarding a player who had to be progressively exposed to English football with three Premier League substitute appearances after arriving after the transfer deadline.
‘He is enjoying the situation and it is very important the confidence back, that is really good to see.
‘We thought he might be able to play 90 (minutes), we wanted to give him 90 but we saw he dropped a bit so that’s why we took him off.’

Gravenberch has now contributed an attacking return in each of his first three starts at the club. The 21-year-old provided an assist for Luis Diaz in the Reds’ 3-0 win over LASK Linz.
The former Ajax midfielder also combined with his compatriot, Cody Gakpo to give Liverpool a befitting equalizer against Leicester City in the Third Round of the Carabao Cup.
