It was a not so good gameweek for most FPL managers, no thanks to two popular captain choices. You know who you gave the armband this week, did it pay off or it was ‘spursy’?
For the long-suffering owners of Raheem Sterling (£7.0m) and Jordan Pickford (£4.4m), patience finally paid off. While those who stuck with Manchester United assets were once more let down.
The week’s top scorer, Sterling led the way with 16 points after contributing to three of Chelsea’s four goals against Burnley at Turf Moor.
United’s much-needed 2-1 victory couldn’t disguise yet another terrible performance from the Red Devils. With the squad’s most-owned players blanking once more.
Marcus Rashford (£8.8 million) did in fact just last for the first 60 before becoming subbed off.
Son Heung-min (£9.4m), the most bought player of the week, also left the pitch rather early.
After being down to 10 men in the first half, Spurs’ forward presence was stifled and Son was substituted after 76 minutes.
In every away game this season, James Maddison (£8.0m) has continued to contribute at least an attacking return.
Saturday’s late kickoff saw two shutouts, which may not have come as a surprise given the absence of injured players Taiwo Awoniyi ( £6.6m) and Eberechi Eze (£6.2m).
As of now, Sam Johnstone (£4.5m) is the joint top-scoring goalkeeper. While Joachim Andersen (£4.8m) is ahead among all defenders so far this season.
Liverpool and Brighton played to a 2-2 draw on Sunday, with Mohamed Salah’s (£12.6m) goals for the visitors coming from close range and the penalty spot.

While only blanking in one of his first eight games, his 15-point haul puts him joint-top of the Fantasy player standings.
Sunday’s return was extremely timely, especially for those who gave him the captain’s armband. Considering that Son and Erling Haaland (£14.1m), his two main challengers for the position, both failed to give a return.
Hwang Hee-chan (£5.4m) bagged his fifth goal of the season assisted by the excellent Pedro Neto (£5.7m) at Molineux on Sunday.
Matty Cash (£5.0m), who is currently the third-highest owned defender in FPL (30.7%), caught the attention of fantasy players while playing “out of position” on the right wing.
In addition to providing the assist for Torres’ equalizer and hitting the post with a late header, Ollie Watkins (£8.1m) led the line admirably.
It is going to be another boring week as the international break lies ahead. We hope you will have enough time to tinker and brainstorm your squad before the GW9 deadline which will be on Saturday 21 October at 11:00 BST

Please Note: Winners will be contacted directly by the iSoccer FPL admins ONLY if they have dropped a comment or their team names at any point during the season. Winners who haven’t fulfilled any of the above requirements would have their win passed down to a next eligible manager (who has sent in comments).
This will be done on the next Gameweek’s Deadline Day (provided winners didn’t comment still). And once payments are made to another manager, it becomes irreversible.
No manager is entitled to win in two consecutive GWs. So, any reward of such would be passed down to the next manager in line. This is necessary to make winnings go round.
Net points for the week will be used in picking winners, rather than gross points.
Also Note: Each player is entitled to only ONE team. Therefore, payments will be denied from players with more than one team, and passed to next manager.
All players are also advised to follow the social media handles and to visit the iSoccer website frequently.
