Harry Maguire Issues a Transfer Ultimatum To Manchester United Amid Aston Villa Speculation

Harry Maguire knows that he cannot continue waiting for rare chances at Manchester United, and he is willing to discuss his future at Old Trafford if he can secure regular game time elsewhere.

Maguire, who is still depended upon at international level by Gareth Southgate and England, hasn’t been exposed to routine minutes week on week under Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag. Maguire isn’t short of competitors for places, in the face of Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof. Jonny Evans has been relied on, too, having signed a short-term deal.Reported by Sport News

It casts doubt on Maguire’s long-term future in Manchester; he has less than two years left on his current contract, but he has no intention of his current situation and allowance of minutes continuing over that time, and he’d rather look elsewhere if it meant playing regularly again.

“I’m not going to sit here my entire life and play once a month, and if it continues, I’m sure myself and the club will sit down and talk.” “I want to play minutes and football,” Maguire stated. “I want to fight for my spot, but game time is also very important to me.”

“It’s not my decision whether I start the next game or not. I’m unsure about that. In a couple of weeks I’ll go back and find out. It has been tough, I want to play games, I want to feel important to the club and to the rest of the team. At the moment I haven’t been playing anywhere near as much as I would like. That is the bottom line.”
