Manchester United midfielder, Casemiro is set to miss the Premier League tie against Sheffield United through injury while on international duty with Brazil.
After being replaced eleven minutes into a 1-1 tie with Venezuela last week, the 31-year-old has stayed in Brazil to help with his recuperation per the club’s recommendation.
The midfielder is anticipated back at Carrington early next week to begin training, as he is going to miss the trip to Bramall Lane.
After being sent off against Galatasaray, the former Real Madrid star will be suspended and unable to play against FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League midweek match at Old Trafford.
According to SkySports, the national team’s captain, 31, requested to leave the match versus Venezuela, and Fluminense midfielder, Andre took his position. Brazil manager, Fernando Diniz said: “He asked to come off due to a blow to his ankle.”
Man Utd’s injury list is becoming longer with the addition of Casemiro. But they received a boost on Thursday when Sofyan Amrabat and Sergio Reguilon trained with the team.
Due to a slight injury, Reguilon has been sidelined the last four games. While Amrabat has not played for Morocco against Liberia or Ivory Coast.

After falling out with Erik ten Hag, Jadon Sancho is expected to depart the club in January. Antony has just started back up at training as he continues to assist the police with continuing investigations into claims of domestic violence.
