Pundit Advises Liverpool To Sign Brentford Forward As Salah Replacement

Former Premier League star, Tony Cascarino has reportedly urged Liverpool to sign Brentford winger, Bryan Mbuemo if Mohamed Salah leaves the club at the end of the season.

Salah, 31, was a subject of interest from Saudi Pro League side, Al-Ittihad in the summer transfer window. It was reported by various reports that the Reds rejected a whooping £150million offer from the Jeddah-based club during the tail end of the window.

Liverpool maintained their unwavering position that the Egyptian superstar was not up for grabs.

Salah is demonstrating his value at Anfield by regularly playing for the Reds. But that hasn’t stopped a number of other options from being discussed, including a move to the Middle-East.

Recent seasons have seen more growth in the attacking ranks thanks to amazing recruitment. Players like Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, and Cody Gakpo are examples.

The former Roma winger has continued to be a constant in the front line with the influx of fresh players, solidifying his important role even more.

What Did Cascarino Say About Mbuemo As Salah Replacement?

“If Mohamed Salah ever leaves Liverpool, the club should go and buy Bryan Mbeumo as his replacement,” Cascarino wrote in his column for The Times as reported by Liverpool Echo.

“At only 24, his best years are ahead of him and he has all the attributes to succeed at a club of Liverpool’s stature: he is versatile, durable and counterattacks with real ferocity.

“He has increased his goal output, with nine in the Premier League last season and six in only ten appearances this campaign. Including the tap-in to an empty net that wrapped up Brentford’s 2-0 win away to Chelsea.”

Mbuemo, 24, moved to West London from Troyes in 2019 and has been there for four years.

In 185 Brentford games, he has scored 47 goals. He was a member of the Bees side that was promoted to the Premier League in 2021.

When Liverpool visited the G-tech Community stadium in January, the Cameroon international scored for Thomas Frank’s team. On a dismal evening for Jurgen Klopp’s team, Liverpool were defeated 3-1.
