Real Madrid Provide Update On Bellingham Shoulder Injury

Real Madrid will assess Jude Bellingham after sustaining a shoulder injury in los Blancos’ goal-less draw against Rayo Vallecano on Sunday night.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team wasted opportunities to draw against their cross-town rivals and were kept to a stalemate at home.

Bellingham played the entire ninety minutes, but he finished the game with a shoulder injury. He was later observed wearing significant amounts of strapping on his left arm and chest.

According to The Independent, manager Ancelotti stated that the 20-year-old would undergo testing prior to knowing if he can play in Madrid’s Champions League match against Braga.

“[Jude] Bellingham has a problem with his shoulder,” Ancelotti said. “He will undergo medical tests [on Monday] I hope he can play on Wednesday against Braga.”

Bellingham’s potential injury would be a huge setback for Ancelotti’s side.

After moving from Borussia Dortmund to the Spanish capital over the summer, the 20-year-old has flourished, scoring ten goals in the league and playing a more forward role.

At the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris last week, the England international received the Kopa Trophy, which is given to the top-performing player who is 21 years of age or younger.

The midfielder proudly displayed the gong before the game at Santiago Bernabeu, but his team’s home loss of two points made the headlines.
