Palmer, Lewis And Konsa Replace Trio For First England Call-Ups

England manager, Gareth Southgate has included Cole Palmer, Rico Lewis and Ezri Konsa to his squad for the November international break.

The changes are a result of multiple injuries that befell Southgate’s initial group. Callum Wilson, Lewis Dunk, and James Maddison were all forced to withdraw. And in the next few days, there may be a few more changes.

According to 90min, Palmer, Lewis, and Konsa have been selected in their stead. All three will be hoping to make their national team debuts in the forthcoming Euro 2024 qualifying matches against North Macedonia and Malta.

After he scored a stoppage-time equalizer to salvage a point in Chelsea’s thrilling 4–4 draw with Manchester City, Palmer receives a call-up. In 11 games this season, Palmer has four goals and four assists for the Blues.

18-year-old right-back, Lewis who frequently plays in midfield for City, has made ten appearances for Pep Guardiola so far this season. The head coach recently asserted that, with a little more height, the teenage sensation would rank among the top players in the Premier League.

Konsa, who has played every game for Aston Villa this season as Unai Emery’s team has stormed to fifth in the league standings, will join Lewis in defence.

Real Madrid midfielder, Jude Bellingham, is anticipated to report for duty this week. But first he will have his shoulder injury assessed. Same thing goes to Chelsea defender, Levi Colwill and Arsenal star, Bukayo Saka.

With two games remaining, the Three Lions need just one point to secure the top spot in Group C. They have already secured their ticket to Euro 2024 in Germany.
