Nuno Espirito Santo is the new head coach of Nottingham Forest.
According to The Heralds, the Portuguese has agreed to a two-and-a-half-year contract at the City Ground after Steve Cooper was fired on Tuesday.
Nuno, who will be in charge of Saturday’s match against Bournemouth, made his comeback to English football two years ago when he quit Tottenham following a disastrous four-month stint.
After leaving Al-Ittihad, a Saudi Pro League team, in November, he has been unemployed. He joins Forest five points above the relegation zone.
The 49-year-old takes over from Cooper, who was fired after just one win in his previous 13 Premier League games.
After leading Forest from the bottom of the Sky Bet Championship to Premier League survival the previous season, Cooper, 44, enjoyed the support of the Forest supporters.
He was spared the firing last term thanks to the support of the fans, but owner Evangelos Marinakis, a Greek businessman, has run out of patience after further summertime heavy investment.
Nuno will be expected to guide Forest away from danger in the second half of the season after meeting with his players and attending training on Wednesday morning.

Having won promotion from the Championship, he led Wolves to consecutive seventh-place finishes, and he will be looking to relive the magic that made him one of the hottest properties in the Premier League.
Nuno Espirito Santo led the Molineux club to the Europa League quarterfinals and was selected by Spurs to succeed Jose Mourinho in the summer of 2021, but his tenure at the club was forgettable (Nigel French/PA).
But he was fired after just 10 Premier League games and received harsh criticism for his realistic playing style.
Just over a year ago, he was linked to a return to Wolves, but Julen Lopetegui was chosen by the Midlands club.
