Fans Boo Mourinho Following Roma’s Damaging Loss To Milan

Roma manager, Jose Mourinho is reportedly booed by AC Milan fans ahead of Roma 3-1 loss to the Rossoneri at the San Siro on Sunday night.

Roma, under Mourinho, ended up ninth in Serie A on Sunday after yet another disappointing performance. Leandro Paredes scored for the visitors through a penalty kick. But Yacine Adli, Olivier Giroud, and Theo Hernandez all scored goals to give Milan the maximum points.

The outcome puts additional strain on Mourinho. Since bitter rivals Lazio eliminated Roma from the Coppa Italia in midweek, the former manager of Chelsea, Tottenham, and Manchester United is having trouble getting the best out of the team this season. Mourinho is anticipated to leave the Italian capital in June, when his contract expires.

After being sent off in Roma’s last two games and receiving a touchline ban, Mourinho did not have a spot in the dugout for the match on Sunday.

According to The Mirror, the 60-year-old continued to be jeered when he appeared on San Siro’s big screen as he watched from the stands.

Because of his connections to Inter Milan, a local rival, Mourinho received a harsh reception from Milan supporters.

During his two seasons as Inter’s manager, the Portuguese coach brought home five trophies, including the renowned Serie A, Coppa Italia, and Champions League treble in 2010.

Despite leading Roma to the Europa Conference League title in 2022, Mourinho continues to enjoy an avid following among the club’s supporters.

It was the first European trophy ever won by the club. They lost the Europa League final to Sevilla on penalties last season.

Roma are set for a league clash against Hellas Verona at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday.
