Ajax forward, Brian Brobbery has reportedly rejected Manchester United by saying he doesn’t speak with Erik ten hag anymore.
Because of his strong goal-scoring record and relationship with his former Ajax manager, Brobbey is a transfer target for United. The 21-year-old striker, who scored twice in a 4-1 victory over RKC Waalwijk on Sunday, now has 13 goals and four assists in 25 games this season across all competitions.
According to reports from the weekend, he had spoken with Ten Hag. And he was prepared to move from Amsterdam to Manchester in order to compete with Rasmus Hojlund up front. Speaking to the media following his outstanding display – during which he did miss a penalty for a hat-trick – Brobbey refuted the rumors.
What Did Brobbery Say On The Prospect Of Joining Man United?
“I am not in contact with Erik ten Hag anymore,” he said plainly as echoed by The Mirror. “We used to text through Whatsapp, but I think Erik is busy. I have a new number as well, so…”
Brobbey has previously expressed reservations about the notion of joining United.
The two parties have a past together. Though he had stated to ESPN in September 2022 that he hoped to play at United someday. The 21-year-old had turned down the opportunity of moving there in the months before.
That summer, United were prepared to pay RB Leipzig the £16 million they demanded, but Brobbey opted to return to Ajax.

“Erik ten Hag called me and said that at United, my agent would get millions of euros and I could earn a multiple of my Ajax salary,” he explained. “But our decision was clear: we wanted to go to Ajax.
“Manchester United wanted to have me, but I insisted on returning to Ajax. To make that possible, my agent Jose Fortes Rodriguez even waived a hefty percentage of the sell-on clause.”
