Although Brentford, led by Thomas Frank, appeared to have beaten their London rivals in the competition for Club Brugge’s talented winger Antonio Nusa, Tottenham Hotspur appeared to be the clear favorite.
Nevertheless, it appears that the Bees ran into issues with the 18-year-old’s contract. The medical staff of the team had some worries, which prompted Brentford to reopen negotiations with the club about the deal as a whole.

Spurs thought they were in the driver’s seat for the deal, as HITC has reported, with the Norwegian expected to return on loan to the Belgian powerhouses.
Spurs’ position on starting new negotiations
A deal worth £25 million in principle with add-ons was reported by HITC Football two days ago for Brentford, however it appears that there are questions over whether this move can actually go through.
Although the medical went awry, negotiations are still ongoing, and Nusa has now returned to Belgium as the two teams try to finalize the parameters of the agreement.
Tottenham and Nusa have already held negotiations, but it’s unknown if Ange Postecoglou’s team will pursue the Norwegian again in the last stages of current transfer window.
Busy conclusion to Brentford and Spurs’ window
It appears that Spurs and Brentford will have a hectic last 48 hours as the January transfer window closes in only two days.
Timo Werner, on loan from RB Leipzig, and Radu Dragusin, a rare permanent signing in the Premier League this month, have already joined Postecoglou’s team.
Goalkeeper Hakon Valdimarsson from Elfsborg, Turkish midfielder Yunus Emre Konak from Sivasspor, and left-back Sergio Reguilón from Tottenham Hotspur are the three first-team additions that Brentford has made so far this month.
The dynamic winger Nusa will hopefully be the London team’s third window addition.
