Thiago Alcantara Sustains A Serious Injury Following Liverpool’s Comeback

Liverpool Echo stated that after making his eagerly anticipated comeback to the Liverpool first team, Thiago Alcantara has now experienced yet another injury setback.

With five minutes remaining in the 3-1 Premier League loss at Arsenal on Sunday, Thiago made his first appearance in over nine months.

However, it has been revealed that the 32-year-old midfield player had a muscle injury during his brief stint and will now miss more time with the injury.

Just one year had passed since Thiago’s last game start due to chronic hip issue that ultimately caused his season to end early after Liverpool decided to approve surgery to try and fix the issue.

The news is further setback for the Spaniard, who has struggled with injuries ever since joining the Reds in September 2020 after leaving Bayern Munich. His current contract expires at the end of the current campaign, and there is no indication that Liverpool will extend it, so he is expected to depart as free agent.
