Manchester United have reportedly made contact over a blockbuster move for Atalanta young central defender, Giorgio Scalvini ahead of the summer transfer window.
Erik ten Hag is eyeing a move for a young defender giving the uncertain futures of Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, John Evans and Victor Lindelof.
Varane’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign. And United have chosen not to exercise the 12-month option in his contract. He is wanted by multiple Saudi clubs.
Additionally, it’s believed that Ten Hag does not have Evans, Maguire, or Lindelof in his long-term plans.
According to TeamTalk, although the Red Devils are keeping an eye on a number of players, Scalvini has always been at the top of their list.
Scalvini, who is 20 years old, has already made a name for himself in Serie A. Where he plays for the Italian team as a defensive midfielder or center back.
Having made 21 league appearances this season and assisting his team in recording nine clean sheets. He is one of Atalanta’s most significant players.

Several elite European clubs have taken notice of Scalvini’s performances. As per earlier reports, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, Juventus, and Tottenham are among the other clubs that adore the youngster.
According to reliable reports, Scalvini will fetch about €60 million (£51.3 million) for Atalanta. It appears that United have moved forward in the competition to sign him.
