Henry Gives Opinion On Mbappe To Arsenal Transfer Rumours

Arsenal great, Thierry Henry has dismissed claims that Kylian Mbappe wishes to follow in his footstep by playing for the Gunners.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker has a contract that expires in the summer. And speculation about his future is intensifying. According to some reports, he may sign with Real Madrid or Liverpool.

Along with fellow pundits Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher, Henry was questioned about Mbappe’s future during CBS Sports’ Champions League coverage on Wednesday night.

According to the Evening Standard, the Gunners legend responded slyly to the rumor that Mbappe wanted to join Arsenal in order to emulate his success in north London.

“What are you looking at me for?” he responded.

“I’ve not spoken to him directly yet about the Olympics,” he said.

“I’ve been calling players, which I’ll keep to myself obviously, but Kylian said on TV himself that he would like to play. Nobody would not want to have Kylian in their team.

“It’s not in terms of does he want to, but can he? Will he have the approval of his team to come?

“The players from French teams, obviously [the Olympics] is in France. I would like to think they’ll release the players.”
