Barcelona are still on the look out for a new manager to replace the outgoing Xavi Hernandez ahead of next season.
The options available to the Catalans are plentiful, ranging from Jurgen Klopp to Hansi Flick. However, Journalist Gerard Romero has confirmed in a recent update that Barça have identified three serious contenders. And it wouldn’t be shocking if one of them ends up taking over as Barcelona’s coach for the following campaign.
According to Barca Universal, Luis Enrique, Roberto De Zerbi, and Hansi Flick are the three managers in question. Barcelona also hold diverse opinions about each of them.
Romero persists Flick is the best-positioned candidate to take over as Barcelona’s coach for the upcoming season.”
The German, who has a track record of winning titles, is currently a free agent. Notably, in 2020, he won the treble with Bayern Munich. Additionally, he gets along well with Ilkay Gundogan and Robert Lewandowski, two Barcelona players.
Enrique seems to be a favorite within the club’s internal team.
Romero claims that certain members of the Barcelona board are prepared to hold off a bit in order to give the team better options available on the market. They are especially hoping that Enrique will be an option.
Due to his late summer move to PSG, the Spaniard will regrettably not be available for Barcelona in the upcoming summer.

For the Catalan club, De Zerbi is undoubtedly a wild card option. He was considered one of the Catalans’ most likely targets among the non-German options.
In the Barcelona camp, De Zerbi is also held in high regard because of his tactical acumen and capacity to develop young players.
