Donyell Malen, a standout for Borussia Dortmund, is expected to be available for Manchester United to sign during the summer, but it has been reported that Liverpool and Arsenal may present competition.
Despite being linked to a January transfer to Old Trafford in a possible trade with Jadon Sancho, Dutch striker Malen chose to remain in Germany and play with the England winger. Since the beginning of the year, he has scored seven goals, including one in the round of 16 Champions League match against his old team, PSV Eindhoven, to increase his season total to thirteen.

Arsenal, another of his former teams, is reportedly considering a move for a player with versatile front-line experience. Although Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, the major attackers for the Gunners, have only scored nine Premier League goals between them, the team has had little difficulty hitting the net this season.
The 25-year-old would be free to leave Dortmund for the right fee, according to reports from Germany. Additionally, Liverpool is rumored to be involved as well. Malen was connected to Liverpool before he decided to join Dortmund in 2021.
Bild (via The Mail) reports that £51.3m could be the magic number needed to land Malen in the summer. That isn’t the only obstacle for Liverpool, though, with questions remaining over who their manager will be next season.
It doesn’t appear as though any of the potential suitors would be able to land the forward on a cut-price deal, though. Dortmund chief Sebastian Kehl is said to be in no rush to offload a player who is under contract until 2026 and has scored 32 times in 105 appearances since moving to Germany.
