The Warning Saka MUST Take From Arsenal Icon

As a precaution, Bukayo Saka has pulled out of England’s lineup; as a result, the winger for Arsenal will miss the Three Lions’ international friendlies against Brazil and Belgium in March.

As Gareth Southgate’s first-choice right winger, the 22-year-old was anticipated to start at least one of England’s games. However, he has left the squad after failing to appear in any training sessions since reporting for duty at St George’s Park.

Saka, according to an FA statement, has returned to Arsenal’s training facility for “continued rehabilitation.” He now needs to fight against time to be fully recovered for the Gunners’ Premier League encounter against Manchester City on March 31.

Following Gabriel Magalhaes’ withdrawal from international service for Brazil earlier this month, he is the second member of Mikel Arteta’s team to do so.

Bukayo Saka:  second Jack Wilshere?

Saka has played in nearly 3,000 minutes across all competitions in 2023–24, and he has been fouled 50 times in the Premier League this season—the tenth most of any player. In addition, since 2021, he has appeared in every league game played by Arsenal but one.

Saka is rarely given a break since Arteta depends so heavily on the Englishman and Arsenal lacks a backup right winger. He thus runs the same risk to his career as did former Gunners midfielder Jack Wilshere.

When Wilshere first appeared on the scene as a young adolescent, he quickly took control of a midfield matchup against the best team in Barcelona. But due to injuries, his career was hindered, and he had to quit at the  age of 30, having only once played over 25 Premier League games in a single season for Arsenal.

ncredibly, Saka has already amassed more minutes for Arsenal (16,557) at the age of just 21 than Wilshere did during his entire career (13,367). The Hale End starboy may be seen as indestructible now, but he is simply playing far too much football.

Wilshere recently appeared on the William Hill Up Front podcast and he discussed the huge injury troubles he endured during his career.
