Arsenal have reportedly been dealt blow in their hunt to sign Feyenoord striker, Santiago Gimenez as Juventus and Atletico Madrid enter the fray.
As he continues to shine for Feyenoord in the Dutch top division, the 23-year-old striker has been linked to a move to the Premier League for some time.
Gimenez, whose De Kuip contract expires in 2027, has made 29 appearances in the Eredivisie this season, scoring 21 goals and providing five assists. Arne Slot’s team have lost the title race despite his excellent goal-scoring performance. PSV Eindhoven are now one victory away from securing their 25th title.
The Mexico international helped Feyenoord win the Eredivisie the previous season. But he and the Dutch team were unable to hold onto their title this time.
Nevertheless, ahead of the summer transfer window, Gimenez is said to have attracted the attention of several major European teams.
According to Mexican Publication, Record as cited by Football London, the striker wishes to depart from De Kuip. It has been claimed that Gimenez, who is rumored to prefer a transfer to La Liga because of his “physical playing style,” is being pursued by Arsenal, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid.
Record has made it clear that the Mexican will not rule out moving to a different league. And that there aren’t any advanced negotiations going on with any teams at this time. It is known that Arsenal are searching for a dynamic center-forward.
