The Premier League’s Title Battle, Manchester City kept the pressure on Arsenal on Sunday by doing what they had to.
After defeating Nottingham Forest 2-0, the Blues are now only one point behind the Gunners, who had defeated Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 earlier in the day. Josko Gvardiol headed the first half goal, and Erling Haaland’s calm finish sealed an ultimately easy victory.

The hosts, who faced relegation, did not give up easily, though, and things may have turned out differently on another day. Even though the victory over Brighton on Thursday was more commanding, in the end, the outcome is what matters.

Guardiola gives credit to the creator of the first goal?
We saw the importance of the set-piece earlier in the day in North London, where two of Arsenal three goals against Spurs came from Nicolas Jover’s tactics. Interestingly, after a close first half, the Blues needed a corner to break the tie.
To reduce the anxiety among the City players, Gvardiol did a fantastic job of dodging his marker and powering a header in at the near post. Following the goal, Pep Guardiola gestured directly at Carlos Vicens, the Blues’ set-piece coordinator.
Premier League sent clear message
was looking to gauge its level of popularity—or lack thereof—watching the Forest vs. City game this weekend would have provided them with a clear indication. Both sets of supporters loudly jeered the league’s anthem, and it was evident how poorly the authorities of the so-called “greatest league in the world” are viewed. It is anticipated that Forest will find out the outcome of their appeal next week, which will at least provide them some closure. Meanwhile, the Blues’ Financial Fair Play (FFP) charges hover over them.
Noel Gallagher joins the away end
Very few celebrity fans are as synonymous with City as the Gallagher brothers and it is hard to argue against their passion for the club. Among the travelling contingent in the away end at the City Ground was Noel who made a surprise appearance.
Sky Sports cameras picked him out in the second half when he was no doubt enjoying the Blues’ performance more than in the first.
