Liverpool have reportedly made Newcastle United winger, Anthony Gordon top of their summer wish-list as the Reds set for a major shakeup ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Current Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot is anticipated to take over from departing Jurgen Klopp this summer.
Michael Edwards has rejoined the club and will oversee football operations for Fenway Sports Group. Richard Hughes has also joined the outfit from Bournemouth as the new sporting director. Julian Ward, the previous director, is expected to return in a different capacity.
The above mentioned will work hand in hand to identify and sign players for the club, while leaving Slot to only focus head coach capacity.
According to The Daily Star as reported by Liverpool Echo, Gordon is becoming more and more of a transfer target for the Reds after making an impression at St. James’ Park this season.
The former Everton star has tallied ten goals and dished out as many assists for Newcastle in the Premier League.

He is reportedly “near the top” of a list of possible targets for the Anfield club after Klopp’s departure. Gordon joined Newcastle for £45 million last summer. So, Liverpool may have trouble persuading the Magpies to sell one of their prized assets.
It is anticipated that Eddie Howe’s team will need to let go of one or two of their key players in order to finance any summer transfers and comply with the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSRs). That might work to Liverpool’s advantage.
