Manchester City defender, Kyle Walker has reportedly admitted that the 2023/24 season Premier League title has given him sleepless nights.
It’s looking like City will win the Premier League for an unprecedented fourth season in a row. Walker acknowledges that he still gets nervous and feels stress during the run-in, despite City’s unprecedented success.
Even though the Cityzens currently leading the title race, Pep Guardiola’s team has been in a thrilling dash for the title with Arsenal. And it will go right up to the last day of the season.
According to The Mirror, Walker claims that despite all of his victories, the tension of City’s crucial match against Tottenham—which could ultimately end up being the title decider—kept him up at night.
The 33-year-old full back said: “I think that maybe sometimes people forget we are humans and the emotion, the nerves, the adrenaline, it’s all running through your body.
“I couldn’t sleep the night before. I was scrambling to get half an hour at the hotel before the game. You just want the game to start.
“It’s excitement but it’s nerves. It’s not unusual for me, there have been numerous nights where I can’t sleep because I’m excited for the game.

“If you don’t like playing in these games you shouldn’t play football. These are the pressure games that you want to play in and this is what separates the really good players from the average players.
“You have the tense atmosphere and the pressure of the club on you and you need to go and provide.”
