Thomas Tuchel is reportedly leaving Bayern Munich at the end of the season after talks of him staying put at the club collapsed.
After just 18 months in charge, the former Chelsea manager shocked everyone in February by announcing that he would step down at the end of the current season.
Ralf Rangnick and other possible replacements have been in discussions with Bayern. But a long list of applicants has turned them down.
The Bavarian club executives started the process of trying to persuade Tuchel to stay in charge earlier this week. Despite overseeing the team’s first trophyless season in 12 years. However, according to The Metro, negotiations broke down, and Tuchel will now leave as scheduled.
“This is my last press conference at Säbener Strasse. There were talks, but we didn’t reach an agreement, so the decision of February still stands,” confirmed Tuchel, speaking ahead of tomorrow’s game against Hoffenheim.
“The job requires full energy, but it also gives me a lot of energy. It is my great passion. For me, a good training session is the basis for an excellent day.

“There are few better, more fun places than a football dressing room. A trophyless season with Bayern is never satisfactory, no one will disagree with that – including myself.
“It’s been clear to us all since February that the chapter was coming to an end. It’s been a turbulent last week. It’s important to keep the focus on tomorrow’s game and bring it to a fitting conclusion.”
Manchester United are believed to be keen on the German to succeed Erik ten Hag as the manager of the club. It remains to be seen if United will let go of the Dutchman at the end of the season.
