Jurgen Klopp has taken time to hit out at Manchester United over the way they handled Jadon Sancho at a farewell party for Liverpool fans.
Ten days ago, the German, who is now a former Liverpool boss waved goodbye to thousands of supporters at the M&S Bank Arena after leading his team to a convincing 2-0 victory over Wolves at home.
According to The Mirror, during the tearful farewell, Klopp talked about his managerial philosophy and appeared to criticize United, who paid £73 million to acquire Sancho in 2021.
Now, the 24-year-old is back on loan at Borussia Dortmund, the team Klopp formerly managed.
After a public altercation with manager Erik ten Hag in August of last year, United decided to loan him out. During which Sancho was benched for not living up to his price tag and potential.
Even though Ten Hag gave the winger three months of individualized training to help him with his physical and mental health during the 2022–2023 season. Klopp has implied that Sancho wasn’t given enough time this season.
“If the whole world loses trust and faith in the player then the manager has to be the one behind the player,” the now former Liverpool boss told the crowd.

“I cannot just buy into that ‘he’s useless’ stuff – like other clubs did by the way. Buying a player for £80m (sic) and then sending him out on loan!”
As long as Ten Hag is at the helm, Sancho is unlikely to play for United again. He has shown flashes of his brilliance while at Dortmund. Sebastian Kehl, the sporting director, stated earlier this month that the Bundesliga outfit hope to sign him on a permanent basis this summer.
