Liverpool Transfer Expert Reacts To Slot On The Verge Of Signing ‘Agreement’ After £38 Million Bid Launched

There is contradicting conjecture around Atalanta star Ederson, with some reports stating Liverpool is close to signing him, while a Reds insider has attempted to dispel the allegations.

New Liverpool manager Arne Slot is said to be looking for another midfielder who can compete with Alexis MacAllister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo, Harvey Elliott, and Ryan Gravenberch. Ederson is seen as a brilliant answer after assisting Atalanta to defeat Liverpool in the Europa League quarter-finals, with the Italian team going on to win the entire competition.

Signing Ederson would benefit Slot and Liverpool in two ways, as the 24-year-old can play as a No 8 or a deeper No 6. Reported on Teamtalk.

According to reports from around the globe on Thursday,  had taken two big moves toward signing Ederson.

The Reds were reportedly on the approach of completing a contract agreement with Ederson. Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes is reportedly assisting Slot in acquiring the midfield enforcer after utilizing his contacts in Italy and approving a €45 million (£38 million) deal.

However, it appears that Liverpool are not as close to making their first new signing of the Slot era as previously assumed. Liverpool specialist James Pearce responded to rumors of Liverpool’s ‘agreement’ for Ederson on social media, stating, ‘Believe this is not the case’.

Meanwhile, another journalist Lewis Steele says the transfer rumor is ‘far off the mark’. That ‘may change’, as there appears to be some interest in Ederson from Liverpool, but the League Cup winners have yet to make an initial offer.
