Aston Villa Enter Transfer Race To Sign Man United Target

Aston Villa have reportedly entered the race to OGC Nice defender, Jean-Clair Todibo in the summer transfer window.

A lot of teams, including Manchester United, Tottenham, Napoli, and Atletico Madrid, are said to be interested in the 24-year-old. To fend off potential suitors, Nice demanded a hefty €60 million fee for Todibo back in January.

However, L’Equipe as cited by Birmingham Live, asserts that Villa are considering a move for Todibo, suggests that Nice might accept a €25 million offer this summer. After a brief loan from Barcelona in the second half of 2020–2021 season, the France international signed a permanent deal with Nice in the summer of 2021.

The links to Todibo occur while one of Villa’s highest paid players, Diego Carlos is said to be put up for sale.

Under Steven Gerrard, Carlos joined Villa in the summer of 2022. During his first Premier League season, he sustained a serious Achilles injury. Last season, he made 38 appearances for the Villans in all competitions, including 27 in the league.
